Rice with garden fresh tomatoes and green peas

                                         

                     Rice with garden fresh Tomatoes and Green peas 



Preparation time: 5 minutes                                                            Serves: 2
Cooking time: 10 minutes 




Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ Cups rice(clean and washed)
  • ¼ cup fresh green peas
  • 2tbsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp mustards(optional)
  • ½ tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 onion(chopped lengthwise)
  • 1 finely chopped tomato
  • Mustards(optional)
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • Salt to taste 



 Directions:

Step 1:  Heat oil in a rice cooker, add mustard's and wait till it starts to crackle. Add chopped onions and saute for a minute. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw aroma vanishes.


Step 2: Add green peas, tomato, and saute for a while (don’t let tomato to fully soften). Add chili powder, salt and saute it.


Step 3: Add rice, 3 cups of water (or the required amount of water as per your rice cooking instructions). Bring two whistles in a medium flame. Turn off the stove.





Note:
Serve warm with onion tomato raita.
