Quick Recipe of Vegetable Rice(Pulao)

                                  Vegetable Pulao (karnataka's desi style)








Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Total time: 20 minutes
                                                      

 Ingredients:

For Masala Paste
·         18-20 Garlic cloves
·         1 ½ inch ginger
·         1 small chopped onion
·         4 green chillies
·         3tsp grated coconut
·         8-10 pepper corns
·         3 cloves
·         1 ½  inch cinnamon
·         ½ cup mint leaves and coriander leaves


Other ingredients

1 carrot(chopped)
Few Beans(chopped)
1medium size tomato(chopped)
½ cup green peas(Dried green peas soaked overnight/8hours)
1cup of rice(200 gm,soaked for 5min)
2cups of water
5tbsp oil
Salt to taste
    









Method:

Step1:  Take all ingredients of masala in a mixer and grind with little amount of water to make a coarse paste.


Step2:  Heat oil in a cooker, add green peas,vegetables. Saute for 2-3minutes. Add ground masala,tomatoes and sauté for 5-6minutes or till oil starts separating from masala.

Step 3: Add rice,salt. Sauté for a minute. Add 2cups of water(1:2 ratio). Bring two whistles in a medium heat and turn off the stove. Once the pressure is released mix the cooked rice well to evenly combine all ingredients.








Note:


  •        Keep the coarse texture of ground masala as it adds more flavor to rice. 
  •        Serve warm with raita.
